S'mores are a favorite campsite treat. Chances are, if you've sat around a campfire or attended a barbecue, you've probably tried S'mores - toasted marshmallows and chocolate between two graham crackers. The origin of S'mores dates back to the 1920s. And, believe it or not, their creation is attributed to the Girl Scouts. This summer treat got its name right around the campfire - after finishing one, a young camper exclaimed "gimme s'more!". Bring your troop/group together for a "S'mores" party and start planning the year ahead.

Celebrate by a campfire or bonfire, and toast a big, soft, sticky and sweet marshmallow, or two, or three, or more! Summer would not be the same without them. Summer is short. Summer is good. So enjoy it while it is still here. Toast a marshmallow! Any idea how old the marshmallow is? 50 years? 100 years? Would you believe before Columbus discovered America? Would you believe 4,000 years ago? That's right - 4,000 years! Marshmallows date back to ancient Egypt. Some historians claim marshmallows got their name when pharaohs discovered that by squeezing the mallow plant, a sweet, sticky substance surfaced. Honey was flavored with the extract. The delicacy was so special, it was reserved for gods and royalty only. So... eat like a queen! There's no denying toasted marshmallows are heavenly fare and they're fat free too!
