What level is 70% on ATI? ›

My understanding was that anything below a 70% is below a level 1... And that in order to score a level 3, you practically have to have a 90-95%.

For RN students, a score of 63.3% or greater is needed to be placed at proficiency level 2 and considered “successful”. For PN students, a score of 66.7% or greater is needed to be at proficiency level 2 and considered “successful”.

Many nursing candidates preparing for the exam wonder, “Is ATI harder than NCLEX?” While this is a genuine concern for anyone wanting to pass the NCLEX on the first attempt, it cannot be easy to answer. Some students find ATI difficult, while others find it easy. It depends on the student's preparation level.

Depending on the time of year tested and the year, the NCLEX pass rates for first- time, US-educated test takers are usually between 80-90% +/1. So ATI says they predict that 59.9% of students will pass the NCLEX (with a 90-100% probability) when usually around 90% pass.

In general, scores within the range of 58.7% and 77.3% are considered proficient.

The average TEAS score is between 65% and 75%.

Keep in mind, this average TEAS score is a national average score.

Data released by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (based on numbers from July to September 2020) showed that students' national pass rate for taking the NCLEX-RN was 85%. That compared to a 95% pass rate for ATI Live Review Students.

The national mean composite score is different with each test administration, but it usually falls somewhere between 65% and 75%.

Students who complete an ATI Live Review have a substantially higher NCLEX pass rate than the national average.

Is 80% on NCLEX good? ›

The current NCLEX pass rate for first time test takers is 80%. This means that most students who sit for NCLEX will pass it.

Similarities Between the ATI Predictor Exam and NCLEX:

Both assessments have various question types, including multiple-choice questions, select-all-that-apply questions, and others. This similarity is deliberate, as it allows nursing students to become accustomed to the diverse questions they encounter on the NCLEX.

ATI Benchmark Levels

Level 3 – Indicates the student has exceeded competency and is likely to exceed NCLEX-related content standards in this area.

The students will take ATI Live Review in May to review in depth for NCLEX exam. Level 1= 4 (11.1%) - Scores meeting the Proficiency Level 1 standard can be considered to meet the absolute minimum expectations for performance in this content area.

The historical mean of the COMLEX Level 2-CE ranges from 500-550. Anything over 600 is seen as competitive for most residencies, with scores over 700 putting you in the 90th percentile.
